Magical Realism in Toshikazu Kawaguchi's Before The Coffee Gets Cold

This study discusses magical realism in Toshikazu Kawaguchi's Before The Coffee Gets Cold. aims of this are to find the characteristics and explain significance utilizing portrayed novel. method applied is descriptive qualitative by presenting dialogues narration relating topics study. results found that there five novel; 1) irreducible elements magic, 2) phenomenal world, 3) unsettling doubts, 4) merging realms, 5) disruption time. It also time-travelling ghost presented novel significant for explore understand reality from a different point view as well criticize perceived, knowable reality.
